Transit worker Dennis Yarczower receives medal more than 18 years after efforts at World Trade Center

Thirteen transit workers who are sick from their work during the recovery efforts after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 were recently honored for their service. One of them, Dennis Yarczower, is from Staten Island.

Yarczower, who retired from the hydraulic ventilation and drainage division.

More than 3,000 transit workers worked after the attacks, reports Carol Ann Benanti for the Staten Island Advance.
