Gander to receive international humanitarian award for 9/11 response

The Town of Gander will be the 2018 recipient of the Rescuer of Humanity award, reports Adam Randell of the Gander Beacon.

The award is given by the Values-in-Action Foundation, to honor individuals who are committed to improving humanity. Other recipients include Doctors Without Borders, Rosa Parks, President Jimmy Carter, King Hussein I of Jordan, and Paul Rusesabagina.

The Rescuer of Humanity Awards Dinner will be held on January 18, 2018, in Cleveland, Ohio.
