Year after year, daffodils stay rooted in remembrance

The Daffodil Project continues. The Daffodil Project began as a tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 when Hans van Waardenburg, a Dutch bulb dealer, sent daffodil bulbs to New York.

Every fall since then, bulbs are planted at parks, community gardens and schools. More than six million daffodils from the project now bloom in the five boroughs, reports NY1‘s Roger Clark.
