West Bridgewater denies 9/11 memorial historic designation

At a West Bridgewater town meeting, residents voted unanimously, approving all but two of the proposals brought to the floor, except for a truck allocation and the designation of the West Bridgewater 9/11 memorial as a historical artifact. The memorial question was not voted on because the town’s Historical Commission must first approve that the memorial as a historic artifact, reported Shannon Gallagher in The Enterprise.

The designation will be voted on in coming weeks.

‘“We’re in this country and [9/11] is a national thing,” Selectman Eldon Moreira said, “It needs to be moved through as fast as we can.”’
