Virginia War Memorial unveils 9/11 artifact

On Tuesday, January 12, 2016, the Virginia War Memorial unveiled a piece of the western wall of the Pentagon that was salvaged after the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001 reports the Daily Press on January 13, 2016.

59 passengers and crew aboard American Airlines Flight 77 and 125 people inside the Pentagon were murdered in the attack, together with 40 passengers and crew of United Flight 93 in Pennsylvania and 2,749 people aboard planes and in the World Trade Center in New York.

The piece from the Pentagon wall is now on permanent display at the War Memorial. Admission is free.
