USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Iwo Jima, USS New York and USS Farragut Underway

The U.S. Fleet Forces Command Public Affairs Office reports that several U.S. Naval ships, including the USS New York, the ship made with 7 tons of World Trade Center steel, have embarked to be near the sites affected by Hurricane Irma to provide humanitarian relief, if necessary.

The ships are capable of providing medical support, security, and logistical support. They also all carry helicopters and other equipment.
