Support and love for Scott Johnston, NYPD cop from Levittown with 9/11-related cancer

Last weekend, a fundraiser was held in Bethpage for NYPD Sgt. Scott Johnston, 50, NYPD sergeant and married father of seven daughters who is suffering from World Trade Center-related metastatic melanoma, writes Lisa L. Colangelo for Newsday.

To add to the medical bills, all seven of the Johnston daughters are currently in college or graduate school.

Johnston was too sick to attend the fundraiser, but all his daughters came to thank the roughly 1,000 attendees

Johnston is still a police sergeant and has served the NYPD for 23 years. He worked in the 81st Precinct, the 111th Precinct as a cop. Since he made sergeant, he joined first the 105th Precinct and then the Queens South Task Force. He is assigned to the department’s Strategic Response Group.
