The Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown West Virginia held a fundraising tea party for its residents and donated the money to the Shelly Marshall Foundation.
Shelly Marshall was killed in the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001 while working at the Pentagon. The foundation in her name hosts art workshops, tea parties at nursing homes, library story hours and sponsors student creative writing projects. All these things mattered to Shelly.
“Having tea parties is a way to keep Shelly’s memory alive. That’s how it all started here many years ago and we just continue the custom all the time,” Donna Tennant of Sundale Nursing Home told Megan Hudock of Channel 12 WBOY.
