The Fritz Koenig sculpture the Sphere will be moved to Liberty Park very soon, reports NY1 News.
The 25-foot bronze sculpture once stood in the center of the World Trade Center’s Plaza. It was badly damaged in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and was moved to Battery Park temporarily.
It was hoped by many that the Sphere would return home to the Memorial Plaza, but it will be located to the south of the World Trade Center instead.
