Son of FDNY firefighter killed in Iraq graduates in special six-member probie class

Royce Engeldrum, whose FDNY firefighter killed in Iraq in 2004, is now a probationary FDNY firefighter.

He graduated in a special class of six for those who were injured during other classes.

Royce’s father, Firefighter Christian Engeldrum, L-61, served in the NYPD before joining the FDNY. He had been a firefighter for five years and had responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. He was serving with the Army National Guard when he was killed when his convoy was bombed near Baghdad, reports Thomas Tracy for the New York Daily News.
