Skateboarder who attacked London Bridge terrorists given posthumous bravery award

Ignacio Echeverria, 39-year-old banker who was killed on June 3, 2017 while using his skateboard to defend a woman from one of the terrorists of the London Bridge attack, has been awarded the George Cross for his heroism.

The Queen gave the award to Mr. Echeverria’s parents, who flew to London from Madrid for the investiture.

Three terrorists murdered eight people and injured nearly 50 by mowing them down with a car, then stabbing them. All three terrorists were shot dead by police.

Pc Charlie Guenigault and Pc Wayne Marques also received honors from the Queen in the ceremony, writes Gareth Davies for The Telegraph. Both officers were injured trying to defend victims.
