Retired NYPD Chief William Allee dies from 9/11-related leukemia

William Allee, who was the NYPD Chief of Detectives from 1997 to 2003, died on May 24, 2018 of World Trade Center-related leukemia at the age of 76, reports Amanda Woods of the NY Post.

He began his 40-year career with the NYPD in 1963 and earned his detective’s shield four years later. Other positions he held in his career include commanding the 7 and Midtown North Precincts, and ran detective operations in Staten Island.
