Retired NYPD Captain Carmine Cantalino dies at 61 of 9/11-related illness 

Retired NYPD Captain Carmine Cantalino, a 25-year veteran of the NYPD, died on Friday of September 11th-related illness ten days after turning 61, report Thomas Tracy and Ross Keith of the New York Daily News.

Captain Cantalino emigrated to the United States from Italy at 14. Father of six, devoted husband, and coach of several soccer teams, he was dedicated to helping others.
