Paralysed Manchester Arena survivor Martin Hibbert ‘walks’ for first time since attack

Martin Hibbert took his daughter to a concert in Manchester on May 22, 2017. They were five meters away from the suicide bomber who killed 22 people and injured more than 1,000. Martin was hit by 22 pieces of shrapnel that severed his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed.

He can now “walk” with the help of an exoskeleton, had tea with Princess Anne, and will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro next June to raise funds for the Spinal Injuries Association.

He spoke with Gamal Fahnbulleh of ITV Granada Reports.
