Our symbol of hope: Staten Island is gifted a ‘survivor tree’ from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum

The beautiful Postcards 9/11 Memorial on the Staten Island waterfront overlooking the former World Trade Center is even more beautiful now that a seedling of the World Trade Center’s Survivor Tree has been donated.

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum’s Seedling Program offers cuttings from the tree that survived the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“There is no place more appropriate for this tree to grow on Staten Island than at the Postcards site that brings us solace,” Staten Island Borough President told Jodie Bonhometre of the Staten Island Advance.
