NYPD Officer Ross Dichter fights crime while battling 9/11-related cancer

NYPD Officer Ross Dichter has World Trade Center-related tongue cancer that has spread. The crime analysis officer is eligible for retirement, but continues to work from home – and from his weekly chemo treatments via secure laptop.

“I love what I do,” Officer Dichter told Cristian Benavides of WPIX 11. “Anywhere I went on vacation that laptop came with me.”

He wants his fellow recovery workers to check their health.
