NYC EMS workers blast Mayor de Blasio’s COVID-19 heroes parade, would rather get bonuses or raises for wrenching pandemic work

Mayor de Blasio is holding a ticker-tape parade for COVID-19 medical workers on Wednesday, July 7.

EMS workers who spoke with Graham Rayman of the New York Daily News don’t want a parade — they want better wages.

“It felt like a joke, like a slap in the face,” said Paramedic Liana Espinal.

Carlos Lizcano, another city paramedic, told the News he wouldn’t attend or march in the parade even if he had the day off.
