No April Fools’ Joke: Army judge abruptly scraps September 11 case hearing

Carol Rosenberg reports in the Miami Herald on April 2, 2016 that Col. James. L. Pohl, the judge in the pretrial hearings at Guantánamo, has unexpectedly cancelled the hearings. The hearings were scheduled for April 5, 2016-April 15, 2016.

The cancellation stems from a secret notice from U.S. Attorney Fernando Campoamor-Sánchez, an attorney at the Justice Department.

The Pentagon’s war court spokesman, Cmdr. Gary Ross, did not release a copy of the Col. Pohl order.

The next pretrial hearings in the case are scheduled for May 30, 2016-June 3, 2016.
