Judith Young, a New Jersey mother who lost her 22-year-old U.S. Marine son, Sgt. Jeffrey Young, to the 1983 terror attack in Lebanon, is one of the 1,400 families of victims of that attack and the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia who won a lawsuit against Iran. Iran’s government sponsored both the attacks.
After 33 years of legal wrangling, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the families’ this week, reported Brian Conybeare of CBS2.
The suicide bombing in 1983 murdered 241 US Marines in Beirut. The 1996 Khobar Towers truck bomb killed 19 and wounded hundreds.
Families of those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks may be facing a similar legal ordeal.
