Little League named after slain NYPD Officer Michael J. Buczek and honoring 9/11 cops celebrates ‘special’ 28th season

“It’s the Little League with the huge memory — and enormous heart.” writes Chris Sommerfeldt in the New York Daily News.

The Police Officer Michael J. Buczek Little League opened its 28th season this week. The league honors both its NYPD namesake and the 23 NYPD officers killed while responding to the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Each team in the league is named for one of the police officers killed in the attacks.
