Ahmad Khan Rahimi is serving a life sentence for laying bombs in Chelsea in the autumn of 2016. On October 8, 2019 he was also convicted of attempting to kill New Jersey police officers in a shootout that wounded two officers. In addition to the attempted murder charges, he was also convicted on multiple counts of aggravated assault and weapons charges. He could serve another life sentence for these convictions.
