James Bast, 9/11 NYPD Sergeant, dies at 49

Retired NYPD Sergeant James P. Bast died on January 14, 2020 of World Trade Center-related cancer on January 14, 2020 at the age of 49, reports Priscila Korb for Sayville Patch.

His NPD career extended over more than 23 years, including stints as Special Assignment and on Michael Bloomberg’s private security team. He responded to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

He is survived by his wife, three children, mother, brothers, and many friends.
