Heather Yang, veteran who served at WTC recovery effort, beats colon cancer, completes half marathon

Heather Yang joined the Army in her teens and served in Bosnia and Iraq. After the terrorist attacks of 9/11 she spent a month working at the site of the former World Trade Center before returning to Iraq.

In 2018, she developed site-related colon cancer, reports Terri Peters for Today.

After completing her treatments, she just ran a Disney World half marathon. She is planning to run more.
