Hundreds gather for funeral for FDNY’s Daniel Foley, who died of 9/11-related cancer

Hundreds turned out in the cold for the funeral of FDNY Firefighter Daniel Foley, 46, who died of World Trade Center-related pancreatic cancer last week, reports Mike Kelly for The Journal News.

Foley’s elder brother, FDNY Firefighter Thomas J. Foley, was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 at the age of 32.

Danny Foley left behind a wife and five children from 17 to 6.

In a eulogy, Mark Fenton told the mourners, “When you were with Danny, you felt 10-feet tall and bulletproof.”
