The Gibsonburg memorial is on schedule to open on September 11, 2016. While it will display a large piece of Tower 1’s antenna, it is not a memorial to the victims of the attacks. The Gibsonburg memorial “will pay tribute to all men and women serving in police, fire and EMS departments across the country”. Craig Shoup writes about the project in the November 30, 2015 edition of the Gibsonburg News-Messenger.
