Retired FDNY fireboat “Fire Fighter” reborn as floating museum

Jim Merritt wrote in the January 2, 2016 edition Newsday about the retired FDNY fireboat Fire Fighter’s rebirth as a museum.

Fire Fighter relocated from New York City to Greenport after its retirement in 2010. The boat, which was state-of-the-art in 1938, pumped water onto the burning World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
