FDNY chief killed on 9/11 finally getting funeral he deserves

More than a decade after he was killed at the World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Battalion Chief Lawrence Stack of the FDNY Safety Battalion will have an FDNY funeral, writes Gabrielle Fonrouge in the New York Post.

Chief  Stack’s remains were never recovered. His family waited to have a funeral and have now decided to bury two vials of his blood.

A Navy veteran with nearly 33 years on the FDNY, Stack was 58 at the time of his death.

His funeral will be held at Saints Philip and James Church in St. James, NY on Friday, June 17, 2016.
