Doctor who helped save victims of 7/7 killed in fire at Islington flat

Dr Claire Sheppey, 47, a doctor who treated severely injured victims of the 7/7 bombings, was killed in a fire in her London flat on March 16, 2016, write Sophia Sleigh, Ross Lydall, and John Dunne  of London’s Evening Standard.

Sheppey was a consultant paediatric anaesthetist  at the Royal London Hospital. The Royal London emergency response team treated more than 200 injured people on July 7, 2005 — more than half of the bombing victims — including 27 people who required amputations.
