Congress, 9/11 victims celebrate House passage of ‘Never Forget the Heroes Act’

A thank-you press conference was held at the 9/11 Memorial on July 15 to celebrate the U.S. House of Representatives’ passing of H.R. 1327, the Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act.

Among the recovery workers and lawmakers present was Lila Nordstrom, who was a student at Stuyvesant High School on 9/11. She and many others from her school are sick from their exposure to the World Trade Center dust, reports Jeremy Sandberg for NTD.

Now the Act needs to pass in the Senate before it can become law. There it will be known as S. 546 the Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act.
