Community honors retired paramedic Mark Harris, who died from cancer related to 9/11

Family and friends of Mark Harris, a former New York City paramedic who died recently at the age of 54 of a rare World Trade Center-related cancer, gathered in Palm Beach County to remember him, writes Alanna Quillen of WPTV.

Harris told his story of the day of the attacks to a reporter on a recent anniversary of 9/11. It can be read here.

Harris retired seven years ago. He fought a long battle with cancer.

Mark’s family requests that donations be sent in his name to the children’s cancer ward of the University of Miami Hospital. Donations can be sent to University of Miami Hospital, c/o Kymberlee Mani, 1400 North West 12th Avenue, Miami, FL 33126.
