Senate votes to award Congressional Gold Medal to Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman

In a unanimous vote, the U.S. Senate approved awarding Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman the highest civilian award possible, the Congressional Gold Medal, for his heroism in the Capitol riots of January 6, 2021.

Officer Goodman single-handedly led a group of rioters away from Senators during the riot, despite his own danger, reports Steven Nelson for the NY Post.
