Obituary for retired FDNY Lt. Donald R. Healy, R-3

Retired FDNY Lieutenant Donald R. “Don” Healy, 83, died in Jacksonville Beach, FL on January 29, 2021. He suffered a serious stroke in 2019, and has been ill since.

He was a U.S. Marine. He served for 20 years with the FDNY, mostly with Ladder 120 and Rescue 2, and was decorated several times. He was promoted to Lieutenant with Rescue 3.

Upon his retirement, he became a Florida State Fire Marshal. He returned to NYC after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and worked the recovery efforts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the FDNY Foundation.
