The long-awaited Cresskill 9/11 Memorial may not be ready in time for this year’s anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
The memorial will be a 4-foot-long, 7,400-pound steel beam from the underground complex of the World Trade Center. It will honor all those murdered that day, but particularly local residents NYPD Sergeant John Coughlin, who was killed saving people in the South Tower, and PAPD Officer John Cortazzo, a Cresskill resident who died of site-related illness in 2009.
The memorial has been in progress since 2015, reports Ricardo Kaulessar for the North Jersey Record.
