New reports say that the 9/11 memorial in Milton Wisconsin’s Community Park will remain, after a complaint about its metal angel. The memorial will be dedicated on September 11, 2021.
A complainant wanted the memorial dismantled, claiming the angel figure was a government endorsement of religion.
The city of Milton initially supported the complainant, but reversed their decision. A new plaque explaining the angel’s presence will be made and installed at the memorial, reports Charles Woodman of Puyallop Patch.
The memorial had received a complaint because it depicted a silhouette of an angel, which the complaint alleged was inappropriate.
