‘He was that guy’: Superhero NYPD cop, Cornelius Douglas, who loved superheroes laid to rest after death from 9/11 illness

A funeral has been held to say goodbye to NYPD Sergeant Cornelius Douglas, 56, who died of World Trade Center-related pancreatic cancer just before his scheduled retirement party. He served New York City for 30 years.

The beloved cop began his career in Transit, then joined the fugitive task force, report Wes Parnell and Leonard Greene for the New York Daily News.
