9/11 family member Carmen Cecilio Hernández honored for office cleaning work after brother’s 9/11 death

Carmen Cecilio Hernández lost her brother in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. After the attacks, she cleaned offices all around Lower Manhattan.

She was recently named Downtown Manhattan’s top office cleaner at the 32BJ SEIU annual service worker awards.

Ms. Hernández currently works at the American Express Tower, a job she took not long after the attacks, reports Sydney Pereira of the Tribeca Patch

She says of her brother, “I feel that he gives me the strength every day to do what I have to do.”
