New Jersey woman runs NYC Marathon two decades after 9/11 to honor friends

Before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Kellie Kenny, a Cantor Fitzgerald employee, changed jobs and went to work for a company in 2 World Trade Center.

Many of her friends from Cantor were killed in the 9/11 attacks, which killed 658 Cantor employees.

Kenny escaped.

She ran the 2001 NYC Marathon wearing flags bearing the names of the close friends she lost. This year she took out the flags and wore them to run the Marathon again.

Watch a video about her by ABC7’s Anthony Johnson here.
