Yarmouth police to unveil memorial at September 11 ceremony

The Yarmouth Police Department will dedicate its September 11th Memorial this anniversary, writes Conor Powers-Smith of  Cape Cod Wicked Local.

The memorial has been under construction for two years.

The memorial will be about 550 square feet. Two stainless steel replicas of the Twin Towers will feature, along with a piece of steel recovered from the towers’ rubble. The steel will be suspended as if it is falling. A replica of the Freedom Tower is also part of the memorial.

Whether or not the memorial is finished, the dedication ceremony will take place.
