WTC developer Larry Silverstein celebrates topping out of 3 World Trade Center

Roughly 1,000 union construction workers joined politicians and developers at a topping-out ceremony marking the completion of concrete construction for the new 3 World Trade Center. Those present signed the last bucket of concrete used and put a US flag on it that was used in the topping-out ceremonies of 7 World Trade Center and 4 World Trade Center.

3 World Trade Center will open in 2018. It is located at 175 Greenwich Street and bounded by Cortlandt Way, and Greenwich, Church and Dey Streets.

It will be the third tallest skyscraper on the World Trade Center site – and will be the fifth tallest building in New York City, with 80 floors. It will ultimately stand 1,079 feet tall.Its architect is Richard Rogers of Australia.
