WTC beam set to become Chicago sculpture

A beam from the former World Trade Center will be used to honor Chicago firefighters who came to New York after the 9/11 terrorist attacks to attend funerals and support the FDNY, reports the Beverly Review‘s Kyle Garmes. The beam will be made into a sculpture and installed in King Lockhart Park in Beverly, IL.

The FDNY gave the Chicago Fire Department the beam in 2013, but there were no plans for its display until now.

More information about the proposed sculpture can be found by emailing mattoshea@the19thward.com.
