Port Authority to dedicate iconic sphere at new WTC home

The Fritz Koenig Sphere, badly damaged in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, will be dedicated at its new home in Liberty Park on November 29, 2017, reports Ron Zeitlinger of The Jersey Journal.

The damaged Sphere was moved to Battery Park after the attacks. Originally, it stood in the center of the Austin J. Tobin Plaza inside a circular fountain.

Its fate was uncertain until August of this year when it moved to its new home at Liberty Park.
