Katelyn Mascali runs to remember FDNY father killed on 9/11 and to benefit Tuesday’s Children

On March 20, 2016, Amy Freeze of WABC New York reported on Katelyn Mascali running the NYC Half in honor of her father, Joe Mascali, who was killed on 9/11 while responding to the terrorist attack with his unit, FDNY Rescue 5. Katelyn was 8 on September 11, 2001.

She is now running to benefit Tuesday’s Children in her father’s name. She pledged to raise one dollar for each September 11th victim, and raised more than that.

“Never forget, never forget it’s easy to say, but things like this every day, this is what got us through and their hard work going and the memory. We don’t forget!” Katelyn’s brother, FF Chris Mascali, said.
