Winnipeg woman Ellen Judd going to Guantanamo Bay for 9/11 hearings

Ellen Judd, whose partner, Christine Egan, was killed at the World Trade Center, is going to Guantanamo for a week to attend pretrial hearings for the men accused of plotting the 9/11 terrorist attack that killed Egan writes Jillian Taylor for CBC News.

Judd is eligible to go because her name came up in the lottery.

Christine Egan, 55, was visiting her  younger brother, Michael Egan, at his office on the 105th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center. He worked for Aon. Both were killed when terrorists flew United Flight 175 into the tower.

“I will certainly be carrying the memory of somebody who was incredibly generous and passionate and loved life,” Judd said.
