“We’re just dog people’: NYPD cop and team of volunteers used motion sensors, drones — and hot dogs — to track canine through blizzard who went missing in fatal Brooklyn crash

NYPD Officer Kevin Long went above and beyond the call of duty, to reunite a grieving woman with her fiance’s dog, Shadow, who ran away from the car wreck that killed his owner.

It took Long and some dog rescue volunteers a week of searching through snow to find Shadow and bring him home, reports Ellen Moynihan for the New York Daily News.

Shadow, a 2-year-old Cane Corso, is home now.
