Wayne Valley High senior receives scholarship honoring alumnus Paul Acquaviva, who died on 9/11

Komal Nerurkar, a graduating senior at Wayne Valley High School, was awarded the Paul Acquaviva Scholar-Athlete Memorial Award. The scholarship is an award worth $4,000 in memory of Paul A. Acquaviva, Esq., who was killed by terrorists on September 11, 2001 reports Minjae Park in The Record.

The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who excels, as Acquaviva did, at academics and sports.

Paul Acquaviva was a 1980 graduate of Wayne Valley High School. He played basketball and football while attending school at Wayne. He graduated from Rutgers University and Columbia Law School and became an attorney.

He was working as vice president of corporate development for eSpeed at the World Trade Center at the time of the terroist attacks on the World Trade Center.
