NYPD Officer Michael Mundy has become the 55th NYPD member to die of COVID-19.
Officer Mundy of the 77th Precinct died on April 28, 2021 after a nearly 20-year career with the NYPD
”Michael, appointed to the department on July 11, 2001, was a member of our ‘9/11 class.‘ For nearly 20 years, he served the people of Brooklyn — and New York City, as a whole — with great distinction,” NYPD Commissioner Shea told reporters Rocco Parascandola Thomas Tracy, and John Annese of the New York Daily News. “Tonight — as we will each day and night ahead — we are keeping Michael, and all of his loved ones and colleagues, in our prayers during this difficult time.”
