Tunnel to Towers pays off mortgage of NYPD cop with brain injury from 2017 incident

The FF Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation paid the mortgage of NYPD Detective Dalsh Veve and his wife Esther as part of their Season of Hope.

Detective Veve has serious brain injuries and is in a wheelchair after being deliberately dragged for blocks by a car driven by gang member Justin Murrell in 2017. Detective Veve now requires 24-hour care. Murrell was convicted and is out of jail.

The foundation is paying off 36 mortagages — one a day from Thanksgiving until the end of the year, reports Elizabeth Elizalde for the New York Post.
