This year’s Jeff Coombs Memorial Road Race will be the final one.
“These kinds of things have an end date, all of them do, and you want to go out when you’re still on top. My kids are ready to let it go, I’m ready to let it go and we just decided that 20 would be it,” Jeff Coombs’ widow, Christie Coombs told Mary Whitfill of the Patriot Ledger.
The Jeff Coombs Memorial Foundation has raised more than a million dollars in honor of Jeff Coombs, who was killed aboard American Airlines Flight 11 during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The funds raised have been donated to families struggling because of death or illness, and to military families.
