The World Trade Center retail complex is finally opening, but will they come?

As Eataly opens tomorrow and the Westfield Mall beneath the World Trade Center opens next week, Bob Pisani of CNBC wonders whether there is sufficient demand for so much retail.

The target audience is threefold — tourists, commuters and residents. All these groups are large, but whether they are looking to shop downtown remains to be seen.

Westfield has said that the “majority” of the shops will open on Tuesday, August 16.
