The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in DC is running out of space for names

Washington’s National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial will be out of space to list names of police officers killed in the line of duty in six years.

Marcia Ferranto, CEO of the fund that supports the Memorial, and the National Capital Planning Commission are considering a project that would add 15 inches to the top of the current Memorial, reports Kristen Powers for ABC7 News.

Roughly 365 new names are added annually, many of them being names of officers who have died of World Trade Center-related illnesses.
